I wanted more hits on Thingiverse, and so I made this. :)
Inspired by Matthias Wandel's gun. It had been so long since I'd seen his video that I forgot how his worked or even looked like when I sat down to sketch mine out. Similar function, way different form. :) My only real design requirement was a single action trigger with a slide that i could rack. And then I found a box of airsoft stuff and I went off the reservation...
My first toy gun design. I'll probably redesign the body to be more exciting and more ergonomic, but... Designed to accept a Picatinny rail on top, and has a molded in 40mm rail on the bottom.
To fire, you rack the slide back and let it go. It has a nice click as the sear snaps home against the trigger and a nice clack as the slide slams forward.
A few rubber bands are used to push the piston forward.
A longer rubber band is used to provide tension to the trigger against the sear as the slide is pulled back. The same rubber band also pulls the slide back to starting position.
My sear needs a little massaging. It's almost there, but not quite. Due to space constraints its quite small, and that's not so good I think.
The trigger pull is incredibly light. A real hair trigger with very little travel. Hope to adjust that.
Hope to fix the grip ergonomics. The grip is simply slapped onto the body. I'd like to mold the grip more into the body. I want to add a trigger guard. Make the grip longer/taller. blah blah blah...
Two barrel STL files. 1 has holes to accept a rail. 2 has no holes.
