This is a work in progress. I couldn't find the exact files I wanted online, so i'm making my own. I've printed this 2 times with decent success, but I am finding things I need to adjust each time also. As a note, iI did not design the tube under the barrel because I intend to use actual wire/tubing for this piece.
If you download these files, be aware that this is a -work in progress-. That being said, I would LOVE to see how this prints on different printers and orientations, so give it a rip and tell me what you're finding wrong or odd!. My ANET A8 is only so so, unfortunately ...
Printer:
ANET A8
Rafts:
Yes
Supports:
Yes
Resolution:
0.2
Infill:
20%
Notes:
I used Hatchbox ABS filament. I've printed this at 0.2 and 0.1 resolution and saw little difference. This is probably due to my wonky 3D printer, though.
Sanding, XTC-3D, filler
I sand the crap out of everything I print. This was no different, but sanding was at a minimum, thankfully. Went over the print with 1 coat of XTC-3D just to seal the job, but That may or may not be needed depending on your printer settings and orientation.
Autodesk Fusion 360
I started with a pencil sketch. I then imported that into Fusion, then drew my design on top of it.
