This model was a prototype to explore a minimalist model which incorporated a single LED and battery. I'd like to modify the design to hide the battery and copper tape a bit more while keeping the size to a minimum.
I think this design is simple enough to inspire younger students (middle school) to integrate LEDs with their prints.
The slot in the base accommodates a CR2032 coin battery. There is room in the slot to roll the battery away from the copper tape, to effectively act as a switch.

Notes:
The rocks around the base are just a mashup of hexagonal prisms, which added about 20 minutes to the print time. The model shown, at lowest resolution, took about 1 hr and 13 minutes... would have been 54 minutes without the rocks.
The leads on the LED are attached to the copper tape with conductive adhesive patches, eliminating the need to solder.
