The Rising of the Shield Hero - Naofumi's Shield
The Rising of the Shield Hero (盾の勇者の成り上がり Tate no Yūsha no Nariagari) is a Japanese light novel series written by Aneko Yusagi.
This custom model was designed to print with minimal supports on a large printer, like the SeeMeCNC Artemis. I printed it in ABS (what a challenge that was!), though I would recommend PLA. It is very sturdy, despite it's minimal thickness.
The shield is roughly 12" tall, by 10" wide (at the top), by 0.6mm deep (thickness).
The shield also has support braces on the back of the shield to allow one to attach the shield to their arm. I'd recommend either an elastic band, or large velcro strips for ease of attachment.
There are two different gems to print with this.
Gem #1 has a peg and fits perfectly into the shield.
Gem #2 has a hole in it for LED lighting. This is designed for Transparent PLA, so cosplayers can light the gem.
Note: I haven't printed the gem with a hole yet (as I don't have transparent green PLA), but it should print out fine.
Printer Brand:
SeeMeCNC
Printer:
Artemis 300 ARP
Rafts:
No
Supports:
Yes
Resolution:
.2mm
Infill:
15%
Filament: Matterhackers ABS, PLA (PLA Recommended!!!) White/Green
Notes:
Printed at .2mm with a .5 nozzle (stock for SeeMeCNC Artemis) with 15% infill.
I would not recommend printing it in ABS (like I did); I had some excess ABS lying around and printed it in that to "get rid" of the ABS.
