This is an Eagle Globe and Anchor (Modified). The official emblem of the United Stated Marine Corps turned into a 3D model.
Please note recommended print/ slicer settings - This is an advanced print and may take a couple tries to get it right. Take your time looking at each layer to be sure your overhangs will print.
Printer Brand:
Creality
Printer:
CR-10S
Rafts:
Yes
Supports:
Yes
Resolution:
.1mm layer height with .4mm nozzle
Infill:
30-100
Filament: Hatchbox ABS (for vapor smoothing) but PLA should work too. Black (Bronze would be great though
Notes:
Use raft and Supports
Recommend using at least 4 line thickness on walls and 5 line thickness on top/bottom layers.
I found the best luck using Tree Supports in Cura to print overhangs but be sure your "Support Z Distance" is set to the same height as your layer height. For more confidence in a successful print (but more post-processing and harder support removal) set this to 0.
ABS Cold Vapor Smoothing
I vapor smoothed this for 25 minutes in an air tight Igloo drink cooler lined with heavy duty disposable cloth towels and soaked them in acetone.
