Congratulations, Kawaii Octopus! You did it! :D
Made this a couple years ago for a friend who was graduating. :) I wanted to give something cute that can hold stuff.
I remixed the octopus container top to become a grad cap that can unscrew, and I put some folded paper stars and little things inside. I made the tassel with some threads (yellow and blue were the colors from the school my friend went to).
The octopus body needs supports (for the bottom and the tentacles).
The grad cap is printed without supports.
The grad cap pin (whole) needs to be printed with supports, and a brim or raft is recommended.
To print the pin without supports, I included files that separated the step and top.
I included a pin that has space (longer stem) to add a tassel, and a pin without the space.
Post-print:
I sanded down the octopus to smooth out the body and tentacles. If you want to sand it, I recommend printing it with 3-4 perimeters; this is to ensure you won't start sanding into the infill.
I sanded down the stem a tiny bit to make it sit snug on top of the tassel.
I recommend gluing the pin to the cap to make sure it doesn't fall off.
I thought about painting it, but decided to leave it unpainted.
You can give this to someone who is graduating, and add something special inside if you want. :) Happy graduation!
