You will find here all the 3D models needed to make a costume of Padme Amidala Tan Tunic that she wears on Scipio in Star Wars The Clone Wars 5th and 7th episodes of the sixth season: "An Old Friend" and "Crisis at the Hearth".
You will find the following elements:
Chest piece: There is no fixation modelled so you are free to choose how to attach it: glue on the fabric, magnets, etc.
Boots pieces: Left and Right ones.
Cuffs: to print twice
Buckle: in three parts and functional to link all the straps.
See below for further details.
IMPORTANT: all parts need specific finishing to be correct, see also below further details.
Sizes might need to be slightly adjusted to the wearer as this is based on cartoon character. Current size is for an average person. In particular, the cuffs width need to be 60-65% of your cuff circumference at least.
All parts are to be painted in a gold colour, and brown background for the cuffs and the buckle. I recommend also painted in brown the left/right back part of the buckle, even though they should not be visible.
Regarding print settings, all models should already be in optimised orientation to minimise support and/or get best results. I print with brims, not raft. Given the tension for the straps on the buckle parts, and the need to shape with a hot gun, I very highly recommend printing all the part with 100% infill.
Finishing needed on the parts to be accurate:
Chest piece: none, ok as it is.
Boots pieces: I made them flat so the curve front to back can be adjusted to the boot/wearer. Just heat with a heat gun (warm water or hair dryer might be sufficient for PLA plastic) the part and curve it front to back to adjust perfectly the curve. That's hot! Wear gloves!
Cuffs: Again, made flat so the curve can perfectly fit the wearer cuff. Use heat gun agin to warm the plastic, and then curve it to match your cuff. IMPORTANT: putting the plastic in direct contact with your skin will cause burns. Wrap your cuff in fabric wetted with cold water !
Because of modelling software limitations, you will also need to sand the edges of the embossed parts, so they are smoothly curved and doesn't display any flat areas.
Buckle: You will need to sand too the edges of the embossed parts, so they are smoothly curved and doesn't display any flat areas.
Specificity of the buckle:
There are 6 straps link to the buckle. Two to each part. It is made so the buckle should be functional. The vertical straps should be 20-25mm wide as well as the two horizontal bottom ones. However the attachement loops are made to accommodate a 30mm wide straps, which is the size that the horizontal top straps should have.
The back parts of the buckle slide in each others vertically (system already tested with success on previous models), the tension for the horizontal straps should keep it closed.
The front part of the buckle, linked to the vertical straps going around the neck, can then get the hook to grab the back parts, which can then be placed so the lip on the back of the front part is blocking vertically the back parts of the buckle. Given it is intended to be a very tight fit, you might need to slightly files the lip and hook for the back parts to fit in the intended area of the front part.
You can check the pictures for illustration how to assemble the three parts.
