This is a model of the key to the time machine Argo that HG Wells piloted from 1893 London to 1979 San Francisco in the film Time After Time.
I've always loved this movie (I am fascinated by time travel really) and the key was just one of those props that always kind of summed up the time machine in that movie to me. It's not a crucial prop piece and even doesn't make a ton of sense in terms of the story, but I still like it.
After pouring through the movie, getting some high res stills and really trying to copy it as best I could, I finally came up with this. Is it screen accurate 100%? Who knows, but I think it looks pretty close considering it doesn't get a lot of screen time or any super quality close ups.
Its a simple print (only taking about an hour for all three pieces) and I did use supports for the bit. With a small bit of sanding and then gluing it together I was already pretty happy. Finish it off with a nice red paint and I am all set to go traveling.
I hope everyone likes this design of a movie prop that no one probably either wants or will make themselves. But, if you do, I'd love to see yours!

Notes:
Support is pretty important for the bit to come out well. I stood it up and then used tree support in Cura with the default settings and it came out great.
